Ummm this is actually the end of my workout with @wonderfitnessusa I must say, I have a new found appreciation for a really good ass kicking! This whole time I have been lifting, but not to the extreme that this Brazilian Beast just put me through! My legs are smoked. I already am struggling to go up stairs! Self Sabotage 💥💥💥 Half Iron Man Doubts 🥺 Self doubt is starting to creep in my head. Can I finish what I started? Can I swim in the cold water? (I’m deadly afraid of cold water😅) Am I good enough for competition? Will all the months of training and hard work, be enough to finish the race? Why am I even doing this race? My skills were tested last week during the Olympic distance triathlon. I finished, but was extremely tired. And the thoughts of quitting were there in my head. With all these mind games.... and skipping a swim workout and run this week because in my head, I’m thinking just rest. Your body needs rest. Or, is this my self sabotage creeping in and keeping me from doing what I need to do?? So, here I am writing this post because it helps me gather my thoughts and focus on what’s really going on in my head. It’s just me being scared. Scared in a lot of ways for a-lot of reasons. In writing about my fears, I slowly come to the conclusion that I am going to be okay. That I have trained hard leading up to my event. In a few short weeks I get to put everything into motion that I’ve been taught to do to finish the half iron man. That “yes” it’s going to be hard but I have the endurance to finish. I have the skills in me to push myself past the breaking point and get past the self sabotage mind games. I am determined, strong, and capable mom that started with zero abilities and will finish the race. My fears and anxieties are natural and I’m being tested. My strength and desires to accomplish this goal, outweighs the negative thoughts. The mind is such a powerful tool that will make or break a person. I am strong. I am capable. I am successful. I will finish. I will earn my medal. And in the end... I will look back at all my hard work and cry with tears of joy of my accomplishment. So, here I go out the door for my 4 hr bike ride training I have for today. 🙌🏻💥💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 And in the end..... to finish is to win!!

To my followers,my friends, posh friends. I know I’ve had a lot of you in the dark of this nightmare I’ve been living over the past few months if you haven’t seen me or run into me. Thank you for your supportive vibes & your consistent reminders that I look great & better then ever but. Let me just say one thing looks are deceiving! Since the end of august I’ve been having reaccuurent episode's of nausea & vomiting. I have dealt with this for years but didn’t have a diagnosis. I’ve since lost most of my body weight (no I’m not complaining) but I’m sure you can understand loosing over 40 pounds in under 3 months can really take a toll on the human body. So even though I feel like I want to give up & I’ve just had enough of fighting this, enough of this body, enough of the vomiting, enough of being weak.. now if you don’t know me personally you probably aren’t aware that I live with a invisible chronic illness called cyclic vomiting. It sounds like it’s something made up but I promise it’s not, I know I post on my good days on Instagram & disappear on my bad days or when in an “episode”. I try to be strong most days, I have so many amazing things in my life worth fighting for, I bought a new car recently, I finally have my diploma & I haven’t even been able to enjoy these moments. There are days that it is debilitating. My episodes last from 4 hours - 10days at times. It’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. These past couple weeks have been the most scariest moments in my life. There were moments I really was unsure if I had the strength to keep pushing through. My body is still in pain but last week I really wanted to lay down & just give up. I didn’t & I won’t, my family pushed me through. My family continues to show me strength when I could see the fear in their eyes. My mother has been my advocate & makes sure I’m being listened to. Thank you mom for holding my hand & reminding me that I have beaten these episodes before. Thank you for taking care of me 24/7 through my episodes. I know how hard that has been. I can’t thank my mother, sister & father enough. This is my life. This is my reality & honestly if it wasn’t for the people around me

*** Vertical Pressing Week *** Z Press This weeks theme are vertical pressing exercises. These movements predominantly work the shoulders, triceps and if done properly the lower traps too. We’re going to be breaking down these exercises into their benefits and the common mistakes made - and how to avoid them. The first exercise we are going to look is a Z Press. This exercise is done sitting on the floor (not at a bench) so that your torso is unsupported and you cannot get any help from your legs, making this a fantastic way to create stability through your core while you’re pressing. Plus if you really want to isolate your shoulders this is a great exercise add into your routines. Benefits: - Really allows you to isolate the shoulders. - Great for size and strength development. - Forces the core to work to stabilise. - Helps improve posture by strengthening the lower traps. Mistakes/Corrections: 1. Arching the back / Tighten your core and push your chest forward. 2. Shoulders shrugging up as you press / Pull your shoulder blades together and down towards your butt as you press up. 3. Bar not travelling up in a straight line / Tighten your core then create a slight lean back from your hips (not lower back) to create a gap between your upper chest and chin for the bar to travel between. *** Horizontal Rowing Week *** Seated Machine Row Today’s exercise is a Seated Machine Row. By using a fixed resistance machine to do this kind of movement you will be forced into a set movement pattern and your body will be supported, making this a useful exercise for getting the right muscles to activate during this movement. What using a machine will also allow you to do is work your muscles to a harder/prolonged state due to the fact that you don’t have to be able to expend as much energy on maintaining your position as you do with free weight based versions. This makes it really useful to add on to the later stages of your workouts to really work your back muscles. It is important to be aware that by using a machine for this type of movement does place as much stress on the smaller muscle groups needed in this movement pattern due to the restricted nature of a machine, so they can be slower to develop. Benefits: - Allows you to push your muscles further. - Supported position allows you to isolate the back muscles more. - Allows you add more load than free weight rowing exercises. Cues: - Sit facing into the machine with handles level with your lower to mid torso. - Take an even grip (whichever way you want). - Pull your shoulder blades down and back towards your butt. - Tighten and brace your core, keeping it like this throughout. - Pull from your shoulders and the middle of your back to start the movement. - Keep your elbows as tight to your body as you can. - When you extend your arms, fully straighten from the elbow but keep your shoulders from being pulled forward. *** Horizontal Pressing Week *** Barbell Floor Press The final exercise we are going to be looking at this week is a Barbell Floor Press. The major difference between this and a normal flat bench press is exactly as it says in the name - it’s done on the floor. By doing this press flat on the floor it reduces the range of movement, meaning that you can really isolate the lockout phase of the movement allowing you to not only develop this specific aspect of the bench press, but also to place the primary focus of the lift onto the triceps whilst keeping them in their natural pressing position. Also due to the flat that your upper arm ends up resting on the floor after each rep, you a forced to learn to really control your shoulder and bar position at all times, whilst results in developing an improved level of stability. Lets examine some of the benefits of this exercise and the cues you should use to maximise them. Benefits: - Great for developing the lockout part of a bench press. - Large muscle recruitment. - Increases ability to move a static load without using a bounce. - Helps to build shoulder stability. Cues: - Grip wider than shoulder width. - Bar above mid chest. - Feet under knees. - Tight core and glutes. - Pull the bar down don’t just let it drop. - Pull your shoulders together and down towards your butt throughout the lift.
