The Rocket Launcher T34 (Calliope) was a tank-mounted multiple rocket launcher used by the United States Army during World War II. The launcher was placed atop the M4 Sherman, with its prominent vertical side frames firmly anchored to the turret's sides, and fired a barrage of 4.5 in (114 mm) M8 rockets from 60 launch tubes. It was developed in 1943; small numbers were produced and were used by various US armor units in 1944–45.———T34 Rocket Launcher — американская реактивная система залпового огня периода Второй мировой войны, предназначенная для размещения на средних танках M3 и имевшая от шестидесяти до девяноста трубчатых направляющих. #WorldHumanitarianDay 🌍 The courageous heart of #IrenaSendler 👏🏽❤ A 29 year old nurse in the epicentre of the Nazi grip; #Warsaw, thousands of people were sealed off into ghettos before being transported to concentration camps, the welfare department had employed her & allowed her to enter the ghetto to inspect the conditions, but she had an ulterior motive; to try and rescue as many people as she could; she formed friendships with people inside of the ghettos before executing her plan & when the time was right she would fill her truck with babies & children; hidden inside of trunks & covered with blankets & then drive as far away as possible & hand them over to families who could help, she returned; managing to bypass The Gestapo with a truck full of hidden children, she wrote every child's name down & the families she had taken them from; placed them in a jar & buried it in the back of her garden in hope that the Nazi's would be overthrown 👏🏽 over 2,000 children were rescued before the enemy caught on; she was arrested then tortured; but she did not reveal the names of anyone she had set free. Amazingly she was rescued before her death sentence as #WW2 came to an end. She lived to the age of 98; dying in 2008, she was awarded later in life for her wartime humanitarian efforts 🌟 #Humanitarian#Love#History#Hope#Freedom#Nurse#1930s#1940s#Hero#Compassion#Nursing#Poland#Polish#WorldWar2#SecondWorldWar#WWII#Military#Bravery#TraditionalTattoo#Tattoo#Drawing#Art#ArtWork#LikeForLikes#Igers
