Benjamin St. Jeanne ( @amputeeadventures )
Today we had the pleasure of speaking at the 16th annual HICS (Head Injury Community Services) convention in Dorchester Massachusetts! @mollystjeanne is a TBI survivor who I have the honor and privilege of working with, speaking with, and most importantly, spending the rest of my life with.
Following our accident, Molly was in a coma. She had sustained massive head trauma (a sub-arachnoid hematoma) bi-lateral sinus fractures, a broken nose, dislocated jaw, transverse fractures to C-1 and C-2, a dislocated shoulder, fractured right scapula, 3 broken ribs, a right pneumothorax, 3 fractures in her sacrum, a right acetabulum fracture, severe road rash on both legs and a compound fracture in her right ankle.
We were told she may never wake up - she did.
We were told she may never speak again - I think that’s been proven wrong in this photo.
She was told by medical professionals that she would never go back to school or work - she graduated college with high honors and owns her own business.
I’m so proud to call her my friend and my wife, and I wouldn’t want to face any challenge without her by my side.
Thank you so much @samm43 for giving us the opportunity to speak in front of so many amazing individuals and share our story!
