The Taliban and Islamic State are continuously able to commit attacks and then the Afghan government just uses this type of rhetoric in the aftermath. What I would like to see from a government which cares for its people is to at least look at its own shortcomings. Some of the high ranking officials responsible for the safety and security of the people in Afghanistan have been in service since 2015!
If these people can remain in power, get nice salaries while they are clearly not doing their jobs well, then the message the government is sending to the people is that they don't care about them. I have seen officials from other countries get fired/resign for things nowhere near as awful as the attacks in Afghanistan. We need more accountability and action instead of these empty threats.
I couldn't care less about this big talk but I do care about innocent civilians losing their lives because a bunch of ego's are gathered together and are filling up their bankaccounts. The people of Afghanistan deserve more protection. They deserve to see a change within the government. And most of all, they deserve peace and not only the illusion of it.
